Life outside work

Close to the craft.
Invested in the team.

I’m Axel, a design director based in Biarritz, France. I help teams turn complex product problems into experiences people can understand and use.

Today, I lead product design and research at Foundever, where I design AI and customer experience tools that help power billions of customer interactions worldwide each year. I set direction across products, help designers grow, and stay close to the details that matter. When someone is helping a customer live on a call, a confusing interface becomes their problem immediately.

Previously, I built the design practice at Mindsay. After the acquisition, I led product design at Laiye. I also co-founded Nudge, an assistant built into the software it helped people learn.

Career highlights

  • Design for Redbull
  • Designed for billions of interactions
  • Led teams of +10 designers
  • Helped raise +$180M in funding
  • Build a product in Biarritz

I do my best work when I can connect the bigger picture to something tangible. A rough prototype to test an assumption. A clearer interaction to unblock a task. A shared design system that helps a whole team move forward. I still make things myself because it helps me ask better questions and give more useful feedback.

My background spans branding, physical objects, and software. I like moving between disciplines. It keeps me curious about how things work, how they feel, and why people care about them.

Away from work, life is mostly around Biarritz with my wife and our son, Orso. The photos probably tell that part better than another paragraph could.
